HEYWOOD. John Heywood & Ann nee FISHER of Weston-Super-Mare had 4 sons and numerous daughters. Which son, born between 1838 & 1861 emigrated to Canada?

HIGHWOOD/HEYWOOD. Richard, circa 1760 - 1842, married second wife Sarah HORLE 1797 in Hutton. They lived in Milton, Kewstoke for the rest of their lives.

ELWELL. Looking for ancestry of Robert Elwell (c.1616 -1683) who sailed for Massachusetts Bay Colony on ship Recovery 31 Mar 1634.

MARTIN. My ggg grandfather Charles William MARTIN was born in Magdeburg, Prussia circa 1767. He served many years in the Royal Navy which included HMS ACHILLE in the Battle of Trafalgar. He married Priscilla SHARKEY (from Frome) in Portsmouth in 1813. They moved to Frome, Somerset in 1815 following his discharge from the navy.

I cannot find any record of Charles in Frome including his death/burial circa 1840, despite a search of the Society’s burial records and NBI. The couple were not were not recorded as living together in the 1841 census for Pilly Vale, Frome. Priscilla died age 66 a widow on 11 May 1854.

Assistance in tracing this Trafalgar veteran’s final resting place would be much appreciated.

HUCKER. WILLIAM HUCKER born Langport 1862 - parents George HUCKER and Harriet HUCKER (nee CLARK). Believe Harriet died about the age of 29 and George remarried, can find no trace of William on any Census, until he moved to Harrow and married my Great Grandmother Jane Warner. Would like to trace his in between years.

GOODDEN, Robert Goodden of Over Compton, formerly of Bower Hinton, Martock married Abigail HARBIN of Newton Surmaville,Yeovil in about 1740 (+/- 2years)

His sister Susanna Goodden of Bower Hinton, Martock married Joseph WOOD of Milton, Martock in 1734.

Their sister Elizabeth Goodden of Bower Hinton, Martock married Robert LEACH of Odcombe in about 1716.

In no case have I been able to find their exact date and place of marriage. They were not non conformist. This is particularly strange in case b. where bride and groom came from the same Parish. Has any other member come across these please?

BURT, I am researching my Burt ancestors who originated in Dorset, in particular Thomas Burt born 1820 in Poole but christened 17/4/22 in Lytchett Matravers the son of Benjamen and Anne Burt. I can find no record of their marriage and the only Benjamen that I have located who would fit was christened in Sturminster Marshall in 1787, the son of John and Jane Birt (sic).

I would be interested in contacting anyone researching Burts in that part of Dorset circa 1800 or before.
