I am doing a worldwide one-name study of the surnames CRUWYS and CRUSE. I have a number of detailed trees for some of the lines which lived in Somerset and would be interested in hearing from anyone else researching these names. I also have a very early CRUWYS reference in Dorset: a Mary CRUWYS of Bradford Peverell married William CHURCHILL of Muston in the 1400s. They are the ancestors of Winston Churchill and Princess Diana amongst many others. Does anyone have any other references to the surname in Dorset at this time?

Joshua died 1876.
