The Three F's For our May meeting we were fortunate to have Mike Bolton to speak on The 3 F’s. This turned out to be Photography, Family History and Fun. Mike went briefly through the history of photography before showing us how to do some amazing things with photographs, including how to make people appear slimmer and removing wrinkles, thereby showing that nowadays photos can certainly lie. He also demonstrated how old photos could be enhanced and blemishes removed. Mike had made a photograph of family members from different generations all together in one photo. He concluded the talk in a humorous way by airing his views on global warming which, he said had affected ladies underwear over the centuries: starting with big bloomers in the cold Victorian era and ending with the skimpy thong of today, all made into a photo of a clothes line. The group meets the second Wednesday of the month at 7-30p.m. at St. Francis Hall, Littlemoor. All are welcome. Society members are available to give help and advice on family history during refreshments at the end of the meeting. Further information on website www.sdfhs.org/Sdorset/contents.htm |
