Clerical Errors

The August meeting had a bumper audience to greet one of last years most popular speakers Reverend K. Stewart Timbrell, who entertained members with “Clerical Errors”. I could not have been the only one who thought the talk was going to be errors which he had found in the registers. It turned out to be errors which he had made during his career in the church, many of which were very funny. He gave us a glimpse of his childhood; he had trained to be an engineer on his father’s insistence before he entered the Church. He explained, to much merriment why he was known as the Balloon Curate at the start of his career in the Church, and several stories involving funerals, churchyards and wildlife! The Group meets on the 2^nd Wednesday of the month at 7-30p.m. at St. Francis Hall, Littlemoor. All are welcome.
